About Us

Neravu Society

Neravu contributes to the social and economic upliftment of vulnerable communities.

Neravu Society is a registered NGO that focuses on the overall development of women, farmers, distressed and downtrodden people and their social and economic development. Neravu Society operates in 40+ villages in and around Hubli and Belgaum. It has helped and created more than 300 SHGs till date. Its work for the empowerment of women in rural areas has touched over 4500 families.

Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2020 as a national festival to express patriotism and to instill respect and a spirit of service toward the nation. The program was successfully conducted and became a moment of pride for the organization.

COVID-19

During the pandemic the most affected people were the vegetable vendors and many other market vending people along with the homeless people. As a part of an initiative towards this, Neravu distributed the essential set of masks to the needy.

Jalamrutha Program

The Jalamrutha Program was implemented for the welfare of village communities, aiming to improve groundwater levels and prevent water scarcity. This initiative benefited not only villagers but also farmers by ensuring better water availability.

Awareness program for the farmers

Awareness program was conducted for the farmers in and around the village to create a global awareness to the farmers regarding the agricultural and farming techniques that brought them the best yield.

Youth empowerment

Programs were conducted on youth empowerment to bring in awareness among the rural youth. Rural youth were given awareness regarding their strengths and capability which could give them a better and bright future.

Empowerment programs were conducted for village communities to raise awareness about the potential and strength of rural areas. These initiatives served as a foundation for improving awareness, participation, and the overall welfare of village people.

Self help groups

Self-help groups were formed among women in rural areas as a step toward women’s empowerment. These groups were created to support those in need and enable women to collectively address their own challenges, fostering confidence, self-reliance, and mutual support.

Awareness Program on Adolescent Health

Ms.Sara Gokavi had an interactive session for high school students on adolescent health concentrating on the changes during adolescence including menstruation and management, the importance of a balanced diet was also highlighted in the program.
